Strategic priorities in Belarus-Austria cooperation on agenda

Tuesday, 12 November 2019

Belarus and Austria are discussing strategic priorities in cooperation, including in the sphere of information technologies, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich in Vienna on 11 November.

According to the source, the Belarusian-Austrian business forum, which is scheduled to take place in Vienna on 12 November, has caused a lot of interest among Austrian partners. “They even go as far as saying it is a historical event. Over 200 Austrian companies have been registered to participate in the forum as of today. The Belarusian side is represented by about 40 companies specializing in various spheres,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

Seven commercial documents are supposed to be signed during the forum. They will add a lot to Belarus-Austria trade. But apart from that the sides are discussing a number of new topics and avenues of cooperation. “Simple trade doesn't hold a lot of promise. This is why working out strategic priorities in our economic interaction will be the idea. Those include logistics, green energy, woodworking, and information technologies,” the chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
